Acridine orange (chlorid salt)
Used for Pickett's fluorescence method for fungi fluorescent against a dark background and for differentiation of nucleic acids and cytology.
Ultrastructural probes on DNA templates within human bone marrow and lymph node cells (Frenstar, J., Adv. Cell Mol. Biol., 3, 1(1974)).
Can be used to detect changes in DNA template activity within cells (Frenster, J. Cell Nucl., 1, 565 (1974)).
