Bolton-Hunter reagent (Sulfo-SHPP)
Bolton-Hunter reagent (Sulfo-SHPP)
G-Biosciences' Sulfo-SHPP (water-soluble Bolton-Hunter Reagent) is designed to aid the labeling of proteins with radioactive iodine
G-Biosciences' Bolton-Hunter Reagent is used to add tyrosine-like groups to end-terminal α-amino groups or ε-amino groups of lysine that result in increased protein iodination. The reaction is optimal at a pH of 8.5. The Bolton-Hunter reagent is water soluble, and is ideal for proteins with masked or no tyrosine residues.
Formulation: Sulfosuccinimidyl-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl) propionate. Molecular Formula: C₁₃H₁₂O₈NSNa.
Radioactive iodine (¹²⁵I) is routinely used by researchers to label proteins. The iodination of proteins can be performed enzymatically or chemically.
