Hematology Stains

Hematology stains and reagents are essential for clinical and medical cytology research. Hard to see blood, bone marrow, or lymphatic system components is easily seen and identified by staining. Whether manually or automatically processing, the Wright, Giesma, and Leishman formulations work efficiently on prepared blood smears. Working with time sensitive samples, all the hematology stains are designed to work rapidly for the most accurate results. Romanowsky stain solutions are used in hematology. They are composed of methylene blue, oxidative products of methylene blue (Azure A, Azure B, Azure C, and Thionin) and eosin dyes. Giemsa, a commonly used stain, does not adequately stain red blood cells, platelets, or white blood cell cytoplasms when used alone.
