Made of pure cellulose treated with hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid, filter papers are used for straining with good retention and flow rates. These cellulose filters create a semi-permeable barrier perpendicular to a liquid or airflow in order to separate fine substances from liquids or air. Different grades of filter paper are available for performing various laboratory applications including routine lab work, ranging from coarse to fine filtration of particulates. VWR offers a wide range of qualitative and quantitative filter papers with varying pore size, particle retention, flow rate and filtration times.
Description:
12.5cm diameter. Very smooth surface suitable for food and beverage industries. Medium porosity. Medium-fast flow rate. 4-7um particle retention.
Description:
Standard grade 595 circles, 125 mm, 100/pk. Very popular, thin filter paper, medium-fast with medium to fine particle retention. Used for many routine analytical applications in different industries,
Description:
24.0cm diameter. Pure cotton linter filter. High wet strength and very smooth surface. Releases virtually no fibers. For vacuum and pressure filtration. Resistant against acidic and alkaline solutions. Coarse porosity. Fast flow rate. 12-25um particle retention.
Description:
Quantitative Filter Paper. 2.7 u m. Retention of finest crystalline precipitates. The thinnest of all Whatman Filter Papers. Slow flow rate. Hardened and highly glazed surface. This finish also keeps the paper free from loose surface fibers.
Description:
Qualitative Filter Paper. 2.5 um. The maximum degree of fine particle filtration in the qualitative range. Capable of retaining the fine precipitates encountered in chemical analysis. Slow flow rate.
Description:
4.25cm diameter. Thin, smooth, hardened, paper has high wet strength. Retains fine crystalline precipitates. For qualitative or quantitative filtrations requiring vacuum assistance. Withstands scraping. Fine porosity. Slow flow. 2.7um particle retention.
Description:
Ashless, Grade 40, Used in gravimetric analyses of components in cements, clays, iron and steel products; as a primary filter; quantitative determination of sediments in milk; and clean-up filter for solutions prior to AA spectrophotometry. 3cm in diameter, 8uM.
Description:
The fastest ashless filter paper, recommended for analytical procedures involving coarse particles or gelatinous precipitates (e.g., iron or aluminum hydroxides).
