Made of pure cellulose treated with hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid, filter papers are used for straining with good retention and flow rates. These cellulose filters create a semi-permeable barrier perpendicular to a liquid or airflow in order to separate fine substances from liquids or air. Different grades of filter paper are available for performing various laboratory applications including routine lab work, ranging from coarse to fine filtration of particulates. VWR offers a wide range of qualitative and quantitative filter papers with varying pore size, particle retention, flow rate and filtration times.
Description:
34.0cm diameter. Creped wood pulp paper. Thin, hardened, high wet-strength paper is resistant to weak acids and alkalis. Recommended for general and high-volume process filtration. Medium porosity. Medium flow rate. 8-12um particle retention.
Description:
18.5cm diameter. For rapid filtering with excellent retention of coarse particles and gelatinous precipitates. Good rapid filter for cleanup of biological fluids or organic extracts. For air pollution monitoring. Coarse porosity. Fast flow rate. 20-25um particle retention.
Description:
18.5cm diameter. For a wide range of laboratory applications, liquid clarification, gas filtration, air pollution analysis, and soil analysis. Medium porosity. Medium flow rate. 11um particle retention.
Description:
11.0cm diameter. Slightly grained surface. Moderately thick. Highly absorbent. Highly suitable for use in Buchner funnels. Medium porosity. Medium flow rate. 6um particle retention.
Description:
9.0cm diameter. For gravimetric analyses of cement, clay, iron, and steel, as a primary filter in soil analysis, for determination of sediment in milk, and to clean prior to AA spectrophotometry. Medium porosity. Medium flow rate. 8um particle retention.
Description:
9.0cm diameter. Very useful in clarification of cloudy solutions. Widely used in water analysis. Fine porosity. Slow flow rate. 2.5um particle retention.
