Specific gravity is defined as the ratio of the density of a substance (mass per unit volume) to the density of water or any other reference substance like dry air. The temperature and pressure must be maintained same while measuring specific gravity. By calculating the difference between empty and filled flasks and dividing by an equal volume of water, the specific gravity bottles enable liquid densities to be determined. With strong, clear manufacturing, the containers can accommodate even volatile liquids or semi-solid bitumens. Caps may be provided to prevent evaporation damaging results. Graduated necks promote easy measurements. The specific gravity bottles are available in different capacities and shapes to work with particular materials to give precise measurements.
Description:
25ml, borosilicate glass bottle is a weld type pycnometer devised for determining the specific gravity of volatile liquids. Adjustable [Standard Taper] glass stopper and cap reduce evaporation. [Standard Taper] stopper and [Standard Taper] cap included.
Description:
24mL bottle for determining specific gravity of road oils, tars, soft tar pitches, asphalt cements, drying oils, varnishes, resins, water, brine, and insulating varnishes. 24/12 stopper has a hole to allow air to escape. ASTM D70, D1963, D1429, and D115. AASHTO T43.
Description:
2 mL. 17 x 32 mm. Unadjusted for calibration in the laboratory. Corning has a broad selection of bottles which are designed to withstand the rigors of repeated lab use.
Description:
24mL graduated bottle is for determining the specific gravity of cement, sand and other fine materials (ASTM C188) and complies with E694. Body holds approximately 250mL, and the smaller neck bulb holds 17mL. [Standard Taper] 13 pennyhead stopper included.
Description:
50ml, serialized bottle has thermometer joints and a conical body. Capacity within 10% of the capacity shown. Milk-glass scale thermometer enclosed. Accuracy within +-0.2[degree]C. Thermometer: 10/18. Cap: 5/12. ASTM D153 for specific gravity of pigments.
Description:
10ml, serialized bottle has thermometer joints and a conical body for stability. Capacity is within 10% of the capacity shown on flask. The milk-glass scale type thermometer is enclosed. Accuracy within +-0.2[degree]C. Thermometer: 10/18. Cap: 5/12.
